Yes the villagers followed the Triangle procedures, rather adopted the local governance panning procedure. There were not any deviations.

What did the villagers decide to spend the Triangle funds on?

Use of Triangle supported money:

The villagers decided to spend Nrs. 7,000 to the social harmony training, Nrs 15,000 for health awareness training, Nrs 8,000 for leadership training and Nrs 5,0000 for goat raising for income generation

Has the committee received the funds yet?

Yes (October) after completion of settlement level planning in Sep-Oct

Activity plan: When are the activities going to be implemented?

All planned activities will be started after Nepalese big festival Dashain and Tihar (Oct-Nov) and finalized in December 2013

Who is responsible for the implementation?

The Triangle village committee members play the vital role in implementation of all activities. VDC Secretary, VDC hired social mobilizer and Triangle responsible person Hari also support in implementation and monitoring.

How were the beneficiaries selected?

Following the settlement level planning, the village committee’s members again organize the meeting to distribute the Trianglen money and for the income generation activities. They made the criteria’s themselves. Generally the villagers made some indicators for the distribution of money for income generation;

the family who have no or very less land, poor condition of house , Lack of food security for whole year, Labors for livelihood, Landless people, Unemployed family, No guarantee for settlement, etc.

Were there any disagreements – discussions about the priorities?

What was the role of the Triangle facilitator?

Before the awareness and practice of the settlement level planning (SLP) Some of the villagers were raising issues such as the money is very little and distribution also interest of conflict so it was difficult to fulfill the expectation of the villagers. Now after the SLP the facilitators from their own village, neighbor’s village facilitators and Hari explained about the resources and the supporting system available from Triangle and the villagers agreed and want to spend in the right way.

ASK specially cooperates and fully Focuses on the settlement level planning process with the engagement of communities, provided information of the Triangle and support to planning, implementation, monitoring, coordination and reporting.

Did the villagers have any comments/questions for the Triangle?

In the previous year, due to lack of adequate awareness it was difficult to manage the money in the right way, following villagers participation in settlement level planning (SLP) they have realized and fully agreed and are cooperating.. But they need more technical knowledge for the settlement level planning. Triangle Money is ok but the villagers have doubt whether the VDC and DDC will support properly or not for this year.

1. Settlement level planning is completed.

2. All planned activities from Triangle Support; social harmony training, health awareness training, leadership training and goat rising are in Implementation

1. All the activities were delayed because of heavy rain, Local festival and the training of SLP. All activities implementation are on-going. It is expected to be finalized in December.

2. VDC is cooperating in the SLP process by assigning the social mobilize in training, workshop and planning exercise at village level.
