Yes (October) The money was deposited after the settlement level plan was prepared and resources were allocated

Activity plan: When are the activities going to be implemented?

All planned activities will be started after Nepalese big festival Dashain Tihar (October-Nov) and finalized in December 2013

Who is responsible for the implementation of the activities?

TheTriangle village committee are responsible for the implementation and Hari from ASK will also support to implement and monitor.

How were the beneficiaries selected?

After completing the settlement level planning the village committee members again organized the meeting to distribute the money and for the income generation activities, they developed the criteria themselves. Generally the villager made some indicators for the distribution of money for income generation;

  • the family who has no or very little land, No good house condition, Lack of food for whole year, Labours for others for livelihood, Landless people, Unemployed family, No guarantee for settlement, etc.

Were there any disagreements – discussions about the priorities?

What was the role of the Triangle facilitator?

Before the training of settlement level planning, some of the villagers received very little money and experienced also conflict of Interest, so it was difficult to fulfill the expectation of the villagers. Now the facilitators from their own village, neighbors’ village facilitators and Hari explain about the resources available and the supporting system, from Triangle and the villagers agreed and want to spend in right way.

Specially ASK cooperates and fully focus on the settlement level planning process with the engagement of communities, gave information of the Triangle and support to planning, implementation, monitoring, coordination and reporting.

Did the villagers have any comments/questions for the Triangle?

Lack of awareness, it was difficult to manage the money to right way in the previous years but after villagers participated in settlement level planning they realized and fully agreed and said ; it was realistic and participatory. However, Triangle has to provide more technical knowledge for the settlement level planning.
