ANNUAL STATUS 2014 and update after earthquake May 2015 and on Micro Loan

District: Kavre
Period covered by this report: January-December 2014 sent to donor Sept 2015

VILLAGE  NP 58 –KAFLENIGOUN
Was the Triangle procedure followed? Were there any deviations from the standard procedure? Yes, the village committee followed the Triangle procedure. The facilitator facilitated and encouraged the villagers to follow.
How many people were present at the village meeting? 18 male, 14 female, total 32 in the settlement level planning in October

What were the issues raised at the village meeting? Income generation activities (Vegetables farming, goat farming pig farming etc.), drinking water tank construction, health and sanitation, good road, irrigation plan.

What did the villagers decide to spend the funds on?

The villagers decided to spend the granted Nrs. 90,000/- by investing Nrs .40,000/- Water Intake Repairing and reserve tank construction, Nrs.32,000/-

Microloan for goat and pig farming, Nrs.8,000/- for path improvement, Nrs.10,000/- for drinking water spring conservation in Dipsa.

Has the committee received the funds yet? Yes in December 2014, it was transferred
 Activity plan All planned activities were completed, which are described below:
Who is responsible for the implementation? The committee, facilitators and villagers.
How were the beneficiaries selected?  After finishing the settlement level planning, The village committee will organize the meeting and will make the decisions to distribute the money. Generally the villager followed some indicators for the distribution of money which is indicated by LGCDP(Local Government Community Development Program):

  • The family with no or very little land.
  • Poor house condition.
  • Lack of food for whole year.
  • Labors for others for livelihood.
  • Unemployed family.
  • No guarantee for settlement, etc.
Did the villagers have any comments/questions for the Triangle? They are very happy that they for the first time are getting Triangle support and they would like to thank the Triangle organization for its support, and they wish continuous help of the organization. And if they got the big amount of money fond they would like to use the fund for constructions of school buildings.

1. Settlement level planning was completed.

2. All Income generation activities, Goat farming, Commercial Vegetable farming, Drinking water conservation etc. are under Implementation

  • All the activities were delayed because of heavy and delayed rain, local festival.
  • All implementation of all activities is on-going. It is expected to be finalized soon.

Reporting of Micro loan

Use of Microloan until 2014 Micro loan total collected from pay back of loans: Nrs 26000 (Nrs   26,000.00 from 2014)

  • 2 families got the microloan Nrs 16000 (2 persons*8000) and started the goat raising.
  • 2 families got the microloan Nrs 16000 (2 persons*8000) and started the pig raising.
Major Achievements from Previous Year
  • The four families who got loan for goat and pig raising they got a lot of benefits and extra money and spent it for the dress and books for their children, food and some clothes for the families. Now they have felt the improvement of their livelihood. Therefore, they would like to remember who support the village
Impact of Settlement level planning
  • Villagers have applied for one projects from VDC and DDC, but almost all the money went for earthquake support so this time this is not possible to support the project applications for the village project.

Village situation after earthquake and aftershock

Nearly all the houses are totally collapsed. The school building also cracked and it is difficult to teach inside the room.  Many livestock sheds are cracked and damaged. People are requesting more shelter but the VDC distributed very few due to the budget limitation.
