The village committee plays the vital role in implementing all activities; they receive support from the Village Development Committee, VDC, Secretary and Triangle responsible person Hari to implement.

How were the beneficiaries selected?

First of all the committee decided to collect information on the need for money from community/villagers and after establishing the need for money, all villagers organized a meeting and make the criteria for distribution of money. Last time the villager made this kind of indicators for the distribution of money they were:

  • the family who does not have enough land,
  • no good house,
  • not enough food for the whole year,
  • laborers who work for others,
  • landless people,
  • unemployed family
  • that the family is positive and willing to work to improve their living condition.

Were there any disagreements – discussions about the priorities?

What was the role of the Triangle facilitator?

Villagers have a lot of requests, so it is difficult to fulfill all the requests of the villagers, but the facilitator Hari explains about the money and the supporting system from Triangle and the villagers agreed and want to spend it in the right way.

Especially Hari cooperates and helps focus on the main issues, the income generating activities, and gives information about the Triangle. Hari also gives support to planning, implementation, monitoring, coordination and reporting.

Did the villagers have any comments/questions for the Triangle?

With lack of awareness of development opportunities with income generation projects, it is difficult to manage the money in the best or right way. Provision of technical knowledge for the business of income generating is needed.

It will be necessary to provide capacity building training to the villagers.
