Yes the villagers followed the Triangle procedure. There were not any deviations.

What were the issues raised at the village meeting?

Income generation activities, Scholarship, Improved cook stove, women empowerment, Emergency Fund, health and sanitation, education for children, environment sanitation, toilet, drinking water, enterprise development

What did the villagers decide to spend the funds on?

The villagers decide to spend Nrs. 40000.00 to the income generating activities (goat raising) for 5 persons (5*8000 Nrs)

The villagers decide to spend Nrs. 20000.00 for Joint farming.

The villagers decide to spend Nrs. 8000.00 for good nutrition of pregnant and children under 2 years.

Has the committee received the funds yet?

Yes in March 2013

Activity plan: When are the activities going to be implemented?

5 person are selected and the money paid for goat raising (5* 8000 Nrs)

5 students are selected and the money paid from September 2012(5*200*12 months).

The villagers started joint vegetable farming themselves because of the money delay so the villagers decide and spent Nrs. 18,400.00 to build Improve smokeless cook stove.

Who is responsible for the implementation?

Same village committee plays the vital role to implement the all activities and after that VDC Secretary and triangle responsible person Hari also support to implement.

How were the beneficiaries selected?

First of all the committee decided to collect information on need/demand from of money from community/villagers. After collecting the information, all villagers organized the meeting and make the criteria for distribution of money. Generally last time the villager made this kind of indicators for the distribution of money

  • the family who has no more land, No good house, Lack of food for whole year, Labors, Landless people, unemployed, no guarantee for settlement, etc

Were there any disagreements – discussions about the priorities?

What was the role of the Triangle facilitator?

Some of the villagers raise the point that the money is very little so it is difficult to fulfill the aspect of the villagers but The facilitator Hari explain about the money and the supporting system from Triangle and the villagers agreed and want to spend in right way.

Especially Hari cooperate and Focus on the main issues and the income generating activities, give the information of the Triangle and support to planning, implementation, monitoring, coordination and reporting.

 

Did the villagers have any comments/questions for the Triangle?

With lack of awareness it is difficult to manage the money to right way so there is need to provide technical knowledge for the business of income generating activities. It will be necessary to provide capacity building training to the villagers.

June 2012

1. All planned activities under implementation.

1. The money distribution for income generation activities was delayed because of the villagers were totally busy in June and July in their farmer fields. It is expected that the money will be distributed by early September.

2. The money distribution of farmer group was delayed because of the farmers were totally busy in June and July in their farmer fields. It is expected that the money will be distributed by early September.

3. Pregnant women and children under 2 years were selected for distribution of good nutrition food and it will be distributed in September.

 

March 2013

 

For 2012:

  1. 1.Three families had started goat farming with 8000 rupee loan each; two families had started vegetables farming with 3000 rupee loan each. Goats and vegetables were produced for sale and profits made so that all money has been returned. 3 new families have benefitted from the loans Nrs 25,000.00 (revolving fund).
  2. 2.The villagers decided that Nrs. 5,000.00 be put in social responsibility fund which named emergency fund (this fund will specially spend in emergency case like to go to the hospital for giving birth)
  3. 3.5 person are selected and the money paid for goat raising (5* 8000 Nrs)
  4. 4.5 students are selected and the money paid from September 2012(5*200*12 months).
  5. 5.The villagers started joint vegetable farming themselves because of the money delay so the villagers decide and spent Nrs. 18,400.00 to build Improved smokeless cooking stoves.

Change:

1. Profits from goats and vegetable was spent on treatment of health, food and school fees and 3 more families have benefitted from loans.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. 5.The women’ health situation improved, use of firewood is more economical and CO2 emission is less.

Output from Previous Year (year 2011)

Achievement of 2011

  • Those five families who got loan for goat raising in 2011, they got a lot of benefit and extra money and they have feel relieved by their improved living conditions. So they would like to remember who support to the village.
  • Those four students got the scholarship in 2011, their study was more effective and the teacher said they improved their study with better mark and position.
  • After support to repair the school compounds and making the fence, the students and teacher feed more safe and got a more peaceful environment in the school.
  • After getting suppot with ball and dress, the youth sport club won a lot of matches with shield prize in the village and neighboring Villages and they would like to thanks all Trianglen families who give the support.
  • The women’ and children health situation improved, use of firewood is more economical and CO2 emission is less. Now they are happy and give many many thanks that support their village with new concept and now every Hhs have improved smokeless cook stove.

Plans for the future for 2013: the villages would like to grow medicinal herb species, poultry farming, cash crops (Ginger, coffee, lemon and vegetables). A wish is also to embark on tourism related activities, like home stay.
